Dedicated face grinding equipment for precise length control post-hardening. Ensures parallelism of end faces and accurate finished length to drawing. Parameters controlled to prevent thermal damage to the hardened case.

In-house ball broaching for internal bore finishing. Produces consistent ID surface finish for compressor pin bore fit and floating pin applications. Tooling replaced on defined intervals.

Calibrated outside micrometers (0.001mm resolution), bore gauges, dial indicators, V-block concentricity checking, and length measurement gauges. All instruments maintained under calibration schedule. Batch inspection records retained.

Quality Control Steps

STEP 01
First-Article Inspection
First piece of each batch verified before full batch proceeds. OD, ID, length, and concentricity checked against drawing. Inspection record raised and retained.
STEP 02
Dimensional Verification
OD measured at multiple points along length to detect taper. ID checked for bore finish and conformance. Length verified post-face grinding.
STEP 03
Tolerance Control — OD
Centreless grinding targeted at 5–10 micron on OD. Process parameters confirmed on first article. Spot checks maintained during production run.
STEP 04
Concentricity Check
Hollow pins checked for wall thickness concentricity using V-block and dial gauge. Ensures uniform wall thickness and correct mass distribution.
STEP 05
Surface Finish Control
Ground surface finish confirmed visually and by comparative methods. Lapped pins inspected for uniformity. Defects, cracks, or handling marks rejected.
STEP 06
Final Inspection Before Dispatch
100% visual and dimensional inspection of completed batch. Batch summary record with dimensions, quantity, and inspector identification. Retained for traceability.
